This is one of my character designs, Stella. She appears monthly on the Swarovski website, where she gives styling and decoration tips for the latest Swarovski glitz. I posted her to the topic "remember" of illustrationfriday.com, because she kind of thoughtful here.
We're currently in the process of modernizing her image, and giving her more lightness, fashion feel, give her attributes of the term "transparency", and a less rigid, but more sketchy illustration feel. Left is the current style, right one of the suggestions for the new direction. Which one do you like better?

They are both nice, but I do like the one on the right best. I like the line quality. I like how the body stands out against the background shape too.
I'm a sucker for the style on the right; so that's the one I prefer. However, I do like the waves in the left image.

Stella is nice in the old and the new version. The new version does really look more modern. But still I prefer the old one. Specially the face and hands look better with the darker outlines (imho). They can be seen better.
Of the new version I prefer the blue background, the scarf is just wonderful and the birds, the jacket and the bags look better.

I like the one on the right. Not only does it look more modern, but it is softer, less rigid.
very artistic and beautiful. just love it.
I like the one on the right. But I think the lines need to be more confident. The legs are great, but the jacket and skirt feel a little tentative. The bold sweep of the calves = beautiful.
